Gas Pressure Piping

Key Capabilities:

•End to End

•Fabrication and testing

•Installation and testing

•Commissioning and MDR

•Major Hazard Facility

Overview

Our client is a prominent Gas explorer, producer and supplier of Gas to the Australian domestic market.   As part of the acquisition of an existing gas processing plant in the South West of Victoria, our Client required significant existing pipework to be either replaced due to condition, or redirected as part of process improvement.  Vecta were engaged to undertake the complete end to end delivery of these works.

Scope

The scope of work included the following:

•Pipework verification and finalisation of design

•Pipework fabrication

•Pipework installation including tie-in welds

•Specialist subcontractor engagement and management

Delivery

With complete responsibility for the end to end requirements, Vecta Group controlled all aspects.  Site verification of measurements mitigated field fit welds which ensured a compressed installation duration.  All ITP activities including PMI, 100% weld trace, NDT, Hold Point inspections, Hydrotesting and Painting were completed without issue.

The pipework presented potential challenges with size and rating, ie. #1500 and Schedule 160, however these  were all overcome at the planning stage of the works with careful consideration given to all phases of the project.  These activities have particular scrutiny as all work was conducted within a Major Hazard Facility.

Outcomes

The entire scope of works was delivered safely and within budget without rework. A reduction of Installation durations was achieved due to clever and experienced field fit weld management.
