Overview

Our client is a prominent supplier of liquid fuels to the Australian domestic market. As part of their ongoing operations they required the installation of a remediation system to extract LNAPL from the ground water. This system is comprised of underground pumps and hoses and a collection tank including a truck load out bay. Vecta was engaged to provide a turn-key solution from a consultant-supplier concept design through to commissioning.

Scope

  • 5x Sealed wellhead pits with gas-lift covers

  • 5x Underground skimmer pumps

  • Underground hoses and tubing

  • 2000L Remediation Tank

  • Shutdown valves and instrumentation

Vecta performed the work with skilled and experienced Engineers, Supervision and Trade resources. Vecta engaged and managed all of the specialist subcontractors including civil works, underground service location and asbestos removal.

Vecta managed procurement of all major and major items necessary for construction.

Challenges

During the construction a hotspot of friable asbestos was identified as a soil contaminant. This contamination hotspot was delineated and disposed of allowing the construction works to continue without the potential exposure hotspot.

Outcomes

Vecta are proud that the project was delivered for our client successfully without significant incident or construction defects.
