Front End Engineering Design

Vecta have completed a number of FEED studies over the years including the following:

  • $30M FEED study for a new manufacturing facility in Victoria. Part of this FEED study would comprise a 10% cost estimate for the detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases of project delivery. The scope of work included:

    • Development of drawings and documents in the Process, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls disciplines;

    • Development of a detailed 3D model for the facility;

    • Scope preparation for detailed design and construction;

    • Project management including schedule, budget and technical queries;

    • +/- 10% cost estimate for detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning. This included performing a Monte Carlo analysis to quantitatively analyse project risks.

  • Vecta were engaged to conduct a FEED study for a new $140M coal seam gas 80 TJ/d central processing plant in the Surat Basin Queensland. Part of this FEED study would comprise a 10% cost estimate for the detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning phases of project delivery. The scope of work included:

    • Development of drawings and documents in the Process, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls disciplines;

    • Development of detailed 2D layout plans for the plant;

    • Scope preparation for detailed design and construction;

    • Preparation of vendor packages including technical specifications and datasheets for market pricing of major equipment items;

    • Project management including schedule, budget and technical queries;

    • +/- 10% cost estimate for detailed design, procurement, construction and commissioning. This included performing a Monte Carlo analysis to quantitatively analyse project risks;

    • Level 1 schedule.

  • Active Skimming Facility ($850K) - Newport, Victoria - Scope of work included the following:

    • Development of documentation including review of code requirements, PIDS, layout drawings to enable a HAZOP of selected option to be completed;

    • Bottom up cost estimate to enable financial decision to be made.

  • Jet Supply De-Bottlenecking FEED:

    • Project Management including weekly progress reporting, document control, cost control and schedule activities;

    • Estimating including FEED level Capital Cost Estimate;

    • Process Engineering including Basis of Design, technical note and hydraulic calculations to determine existing pumps adequacy, PIDs, HAZOP reviews etc.;

    • Piping/Mechanical Engineering including, isometrics, tie-in lists, bulk MTOs, procurement requisition for valves, construction works;

    • Instrument and Controls Engineering including Functional Control specifications, , loop diagrams, termination drawings, instrument enquiry packages;

    • Provision of a HAZOP Facilitator including HAZOP minuter and HAZOP Scribe.
